Uruha II - Face/Hand

I took a break from Ruki ahaha. I've a marvelous plan for my upcoming Gazette set for Cosfest 2010 WOO! *w* So I'm gonna be working on simultaneous pieces at the same time lol *kills myself*

Started embarking on Uruha. I chose a new picture this time.. not sure if I've chosen the right one haha ^^;; Because this has proven harder than it looks! But oh well, it's looking really fine now so I have my hopes up.

*Oh yah, ignore the file being named Ruki haha! I wanted to reference my previous Ruki's face drawing to get the colours for Uruha. Challenging stuff~!!

I always start with the face base colour, then go on to the nose. The nose being the centre point of the whole face sets everything in place. Only irony is that my nose drawings suck. Haha!

Fast forward to the eyes. At this stage it's not complete though. Lots more shading to do around the eye and on the eyeball itself.

Fast forward to the mouth! *above* Basic colours selected.

After shading in the rest of the mouth + adding details, I pick the same base colour for Ruki's hair, for Uruha's hair.

Added a layer of black shade behind the hair to give it a bit of depth. Also re-touched up the eyes *blink blink* Uruha's face is coming alive~!

Did a bit of clothes just to get a rough idea of where the shoulders are...before I start on the hands.

Let's start on the hand. I suck at drawing hands, so let's just... pick the base skin colour and draw a funny hand shape LOL. He's kinda pulling his collar a little, so the thumb should be hidden behind the collar flap.

Rings added, nail polish, shadows...done! xD I hope it looks like a hand.....o_O

Last WIP of the day. Touched up the hair and eyes again for the 100th time. I'm always discovering new things that I've missed out after drawing the other stuff, even if it's really minor. Like in this case, it's the darkening of the lower lash line on the little covered eye. Yup, as minor as that! Makes alot of difference though...

Alright think you can guess by now - I'm having the same colour scheme for the entire Gazette set, which makes this quite a personal achievement (observing how the same colours fall on different people). And it's challenging because it means I can't pick the colours from my references now. HOHO! Level up! =D
