Cloud - Clothes Part 1

There're a load of WIPs that I've been meaning to show but photobucket just didn't load. So here they all are now~! *WIP spam lol*

Let's start with...

Photobucket
...the green scarf. (haha, reminds me of the "girl with the green scarf" from Confessions of a Shopaholic! @_@)

Photobucket
Then the shoulder thingy.. Cloud's uniform is designed to protect shoulders. lol!

Photobucket
Anyway after lots of adjustments to this one piece (can't believe I took so long adjusting) I decided the shoulder-protector should be bigger. Even though it still looks odd..

Photobucket
But I decided to stick to it, I think it looks better than the first one I've drawn?

Photobucket
Adding "texture" by dotting and stroking the brush. At some point it ended up looking like hair growth. Like an old man's stubble o_O EEW.

Photobucket
After all that effort in fixing this i think it looks pretty good!! Ok maybe it could have been a biiiit bigger, the shine on the metal a bit brighter, the lines not so defined... but OH WELL. It can be adjusted when i've completed the overall pic. Nothing is fixed at this stage

Photobucket
next comes the arm.. I've a feeling the angle is completely off from the reference but as long as it looks ok I guess... "Tilted" things are hard to draw.

Photobucket
Locked the layer and add "texture lines" to the cloth. This is done by simply stroking brush lines a colour darker I guess? I'm no pro artist, all my techniques are really the simplest :X

Photobucket
THE ARM itself. omg it started out scrawny like an underfed child haha~ My sketch is just screwed as always xD It's just there to tell me where the arm is.

Photobucket
There. Fattened. :D It's just an estimated look of how thick the arm is in comparison to...everything else?

Photobucket
Shading the arm. My favourite part, because the arm "comes to life" at this point. The dark shades weren't easy because it did look like proper Geostigma at some point! ^^;;

Photobucket
Lol, drew the arm too long actually. But it doesn't matter, all is covered by the hand~

Photobucket
I adjusted the hand a load of times as well. The shape is pretty hard! I think i've done my best though.. He's supposed to be pulling the scarf away from his face, right now it just looks like he dug a finger into it.

Photobucket
Ignore the finger, let's do the first layer of shading first. This glove sooo reminds me of the Lady Gaga pic I drew earlier this year :P therefore, same techniques apply...

Photobucket
This much i've completed over the week!! (left, with sketch. right, without sketch layer)
I'm aware his arm is still rather fat, im hoping it won't be too obvious when I draw the rest of the clothes... :/

What's left:
- Glove
- Rest of clothes
- Scarf lines/texture
- Bit of hair on the right side of face
- Face touch-up
